Front lip spoiler

I'm planning on buying a 2011 6MT sedan and am uncertain if I should get the front lip spoiler. I've read a few threads where people have suggested buying it after you get the car as it's pretty easy to install. Some threads say there's no drilling required while others say there is, can anyone confirm either way? If there's drilling involved I'm inclined to have it installed as part of the car purchase. Will I get a better deal on it if I add it as part of my car purchase or should I just wait and do it myself?

Unless you're thinking you may want an aftermarket lip down the road, I say just get directly from the dealer and rolled into your loan.

Chances are, if you include it with the car purchase, they'll charge you MSRP or close to it, plus you'll be financing that over the life of your loan.

If you buy it elsewhere on your own, you will be able to get it at least $100 cheaper than MSRP. Not sure on the 2011, but on the '07-09's you will need to drill a few holes, a couple as large as an inch, to allow for the various clips and screws to hold it in.

If you go to EDMUNDS and price the car out, it will show you MSRP and INVOICE for the accessories. That way you know if your getting a decent deal or not.

...from what I've heard you have to drill.

If you are going to get it as part of the aero package, get it with the car when you buy it as the cost will be less assuming you negotiate a lower cost of the overall vehicle. You could always buy it after you purchase the car, but then again you will pay more and you have to be concerned about the install of the lip. I would just buy it as part of the package.

Yes, you will have to drill holes for the OEM chin spoiler, but it's very easy to install. All holes are drilled through plastic of the front fascia.
