what does your fuel econ avg say?

22 m.p.g. with 60% urban interstate / 40% city. High of 28 m.p.g. on seven hour interstate round trip.
I really have to shake my head at some of the expectations I read in threads like this. Yes, it's a V-6 - but it produces 330 normally-aspirated horsepower. No turbocharger maintenance hassles help offset the additional fuel burn.
I'd suggest anyone who doesn't like the gas mileage should trade their G37's in for G25's or Honda Civics. This isn't an economy car...it's a performance sedan. If one can truly afford to drive a $30k - $40K car, gas mileage shouldn't be an economic issue.
Personally, for what it is, I think the G gets phenomenal gas mileage. After all, we're discussing a car that can run the 1/4 mile in the mid to low 13's...quicker than a 1970 Hemi Cuda that got 10 m.p.g. on a good day. It'll also turn a corner without scraping the door handles.

I always get 26 mpg if its 100% freeway driving, at ~70mph, with no extra weight. If I slow down to cruising at 55mph I jump to 28mpg. The only way to measure it though, is get up to cruising speed, reset the car fuel economy display. I trust what the car calculates. I compared it to my manual calcs for nearly a year when I had my X and it was always with 0.2.

I'm getting around 22 with a 60/40 mix of urban highway to city.
Nissan has never been known for building economical engines among Honda and Toyota. I certainly wouldn't turn down better mileage, but only as long as the performance stays the same. I didn't buy this car for economy!!!

Little off-topic but I drove a rented Sonata today and mileage is unbelievable. Drove 85+ (some 90) for two hours today in New Mexico (not flat) and got 36mpg. I usually get about 18 if heavy suburban and 22 in mixed hwy and suburban with my G.

Check you tire pressure recently? Might be good to see what variable has changed. Winter gas just started in Sept....

Just got bored and took the car for a drive. 58 miles averaging 68.8 MPH and got 27.1 MPG. 100% highway miles with the cruise set and about 4 people slowing down infront of me so the car dropped my set speed a few mph for about a minute each time.
