The G is a thirsty car, no secret there. I've averaged as much as 28mpg on a mostly interstate trip back in Sept. My average reading as of now says 20.8, and that is 99.9% city streets.

19.5 with 1/2 my time sitting in traffic in the city and the other 1/2 cruising at 75-80mph on the freeway. As a reference, I had 18.5 with the same commute in my 07 G35 sedan.

It's showing 26 but actually doing the math puts it right at 23.4
6MT gets real good MPG especially since I installed the Stillen stage 3 long tube intakes... Have averaged 27 doing 70-80MPH on long trips out of town etc. since I have the Stage 3 and am using Royal purple oil. That has increased by 2MPG which is really good at those speeds compared to what you guys are reporting in this thread.
The 23.4 is everyday driving average around Houston. I have 35,000 Miles, Use Royal Purple oil and Techron fuel system cleaner every 5000 miles.

I got 25 mpg on a 400 mile trip on my new car yesterday....only had 10 miles on it to start so I varied rpms as best I could and kept it under 4k the whole time. Seems the worse mpg will come when I start to have fun with the car

I noticed that whenever I go to Houston, I get a lot better mileage than up here. It must be the lack of hills.
I am averaging 20.2 with less than 1k miles, I anticipate this increasing with time after break in.

To make a long story short: short trips = lower mileage, if everything else is the same. I would fully expect city driving in a warmer climate to be more efficient than when it is very cold. Of course, once it gets very hot it may suffer with the A/C on full blast.

Coprolite is right. Its all about the air/fuel mixture. More (denser) air = more fuel needed. Cold air is more dense than warm air, so the colder the air and engine to start the more fuel is necessary.
If you had a datalogger to hook up and watched it real time, youd see the fuel trim change as the engine goes from cold to warm.
Thats why its hard to pinpoint mpg figures between people and cars. Everyone drives differently, different geographies, weather, etc. Only real way to compare them is if we all do a cross country caravan of Gs. Then we would all be in the exact same conditions at the same time and could compare mpg (driving habits would still affect the numbers somewhat but that would be pretty much the only variable at that point, minus mods)
