I love Insideline, they do some very good reviews and performance testing. Chris Walton their test driver has a lot of experience testing cars w/ Motor Trend previously so if anyone can get a solid time, he's as good as any. For the IPL it's definitely disappointing since they tested an 09 Sedan Sport 7AT - 2009 Infiniti G37 Journey Road Test Specs and it was better in every category with slight bit more weight and less power.
I had better expectations of the IPL, while they aren't horrid numbers it's not delivering for 50k. Hats off to InsideLine for testing this car.

I've never been a fan of the the IPL's altered aesthetics, they take a damn good looking car and make it look goofy. More importantly, the performance numbers from that test are downright pathetic. Hopefully conditions were far less than ideal or this was a dud of a car. If not, good luck trying to sell these overpriced, buck-toothed cars.

that IPL must be a lemon lol. how could it have less performance with more hp using the same engine and tranny? the comparo by inside line between the 09 infiniti g37s sedan and the taurus sho makes me laugh. It still gets comments on youtube weekly after 2 years from infiniti and ford fans alike argueing about why or why not either car is better. maybe ford payed inside line to punish infiniti for all that abuse sho got .... just kidding.

The IPL fails in looks and performance. Infiniti should have invested in reducing the weight of the car instead of adding Pep Boys body parts and making up horsepower figures.

All that said, what were people expecting? 18 HP and 6 lbs-ft of torque all on the top end won't do much for 0 - 60 times. Infiniti's emphasis has always seemed to be the look and feel of the car (they talk about the body kit, exhaust pipes, paint and interior work, the wheels, and the suspension upgrades). The 18 HP bump is mentioned as an afterthough.
Not making excuses for them just saying that I wasn't expecting much from the get go on this.

I am an infiniti fan, but I agree the price is not right. I am waiting for the sedan and other vehicles from infiniti to receive the ipl badge, before I say "ipl is not that good"

Does anyone know if someone has placed an IPL on a chassis dyno to see if it's actually putting out anymore power as the factory states? Come to think of it, the Nismo 370z states even a bit more power out of the VQ37 - need to do some research to see if someone has dyno'd the Nismo.
