I would think Infiniti would take the GT-R's engine and tranny and de-tune it to 400hp and call that it's IPL....maybe i'm just dreaming!

It's really not a performance line unless you increase the hp by about 100hp from base engines! look at the audi's, BMW's, lexus's and all the amg models! I love my infiniti but I wish they would've done a lot more with this line.

Maybe they are going to make a g37 R as their top performance car???? once again just dreaming....

I would take that 0-60 time with a grain of salt. If I remember correctly, Inside Line tested some muscle cars a while back and got a 6+ second 0-60 time in a Dodge Charger R/T. Buh-Lone-ee

um, seems that TRACTION CONTROL was turned ON for the test. NOT a good way to extract maximum performance.

Not that this is in any way an excuse for this lack of performace, but it brings me to a noob questions that may have been asked but I couldn't find the thread.

This test was done with a 6MT with the traction control (VDC) on... for me... it seems as though my car shifts with better response with the traction control off... almost like my VDC retards the shift in a way when driving a bit "spirited"... could this just be an issue with my car? Am I just an idiot? All thoughts are welcome as I could just be very wrong as it would make sense that VDC would only help with connecting without spin...

What do you track guys do when running the 1/8 and 1/4?

This AGAIN is NO excuse for this IPL to have worse numbers in ANY way as it seems a huge FAIL for this entire line and I sincerely hope they wake up and see they need to put out some real gains for this to be successful instead of turning their back on the project all together... I am worried they will.

1/4-Mile (sec @ mph): 14.0 @ 102.1 (14.6 @ 100.8 TC On)
0-60 with 1-ft Rollout (sec): 5.5 (6.3 TC On)

I thought they gave the times with both traction control on and off . . .

This test is b.s. It can't be right....clearly numbers are off. It's impossible to have the same exact car with more power....go slower.

Think about it

Honest question about the IPL....can the "tweaked engine management system" be applied to any 3.7L? Makes you wonder if we can turn any sedan/coupe into IP-L level with a tune and a true dual exhaust. And if so, do the same tests as Inside line and see if we can get better numbers on a non-IPL car.

I dont have my car just yet so I cant really compare........are the AWD sedans pulling 5.8 or lower 0-60s?

^ yes you can tune a non-IPL to produce better numbers because "most" after market exhausts produce more power than the Nismo exhaust, and most aftermarket tunes/software are beter than Infiniti's...

Does anyone know how much the IPL wheels weigh, maybe the 19s are hurting it a bit.
