Do you warm up your G ?
#31
Since day one I let the car Idle for at least 30 seconds like the manual says, No more than a minute though because it kills your mpg. When its cold out I remote start it though and make sure i leave the climate control system and the seat warmers on the night before so my car is nice and comfortable when I get inside. I absolutely HATE cold weather and i dont have a garage so my seats will be freezing if i dont do this. I wish we had heated steering wheels.

I just idle my car for 20-30 secs and back out of garage, close it and drive off...which is close to a minute. It takes me almost 5 mins of drive around neighborhood to even hit 40mph...by that time my car is pretty warmed up. No issues for me

I start engine, drive off, take it easy on the accelerator until the engine warms up.
Have been driving for decades, no engine failures or rebuilds, no burning oil, and we keep our cars more than a decade.
I think a warm up period is unnecessary.

I idle the car for 20-30 seconds, or until I get bored, or unless I am in a hurry. Hey, at least I'm honest. The first five minutes of my drive is in-town traffic and doesn't put much of a load on the engine.

Once i get in the car i start the car, buckle up then back out of the garage then let it sit for a few seconds while i wait for the garage door to close. it takes about 1 minute to get to the main road so i take it easy on the neighborhood then once on the main street i'm good to go.

The whole reason they say don't let it idle and just drive it so in the long run you go to the mechanic and start fixing your car with problems it will have. If you're leasing then i would understand you wouldn't care about it after 3 years. But if you intend on keeping it why not take care of it.
