Just picked up 2011 g37xS - already a minor problem.

Hey all.

Picked up for the wife today a 2011 G37xS Sedan - all options but the tech package.

Already own a 2008 G37 6MT Coupe - so very very familiar with the car.

Drove car home tonight and just loved it.

However - 2 minor problems:

1) Analog clock both isn't moving and won't change time when setting buttons pushed - stuck at high noon.

2) Homelink mirror has 1 green light on showing it has power - but no matter how long I push the outer homelink buttons it never blinks. (held for almost 3 minutes just to be sure at one point).

Is there a blown fuse here? I'll be taking it back to the dealer next week but wondering if anyone knew a fast solution. As well - is the 2nd spot on the mirror that looks like an LED just the light sensor for the rear-view or is that supposed to light up as well?

On the 2008 I have the mirror with a compass and it's designed slightly differently.

Wife wants me to return the car completely - she thinks if something this minor is wrong there's bound to be other bigger things....(she's a worry wart)

Thanks!

RETURN THE WIFE! You don't need this additional stress when your car isn't performing correctly.

Okay, just kidding....kinda.

LOL, tell the wife that you can't just return a car like you can a pair of pants. Little issues like that shouldn't be any indication whatsoever of bigger and/or more serious problems.

Hahahaha.

Belive me - I am tempted.

Service appointment Thursday....I'll just let them deal with it.

Note that the WHOLE reason I bought the car is to distract her while I start my plans for modding the Coupe.

HAHAHAHA !! You gotta make sure she doesn't read the forum, or you might have some BIG trouble.

Just bought the same car this past weekend and had the same problem you describe in #1. There is a special shipping fuse they use to prevent the clock from draining the battery while in transit. I think you will find the intermittent wipers don't work either. Anyway, they just pulled the fuse and everything works fine. I'm guessing problem #2 may also be related...

Anytime you have a problem after buying a new car, bring it back to the dealer and have them fix it. That is what the Service Department is there for no matter how big or small the problem really is.

I don't know dude.. G37 or Wife.. Hmmm that's tough decision.
Pros and cons.. I think you should listen to your wife. Not all the time, but most of time..

I had the same thing, it was a fuse. Homelink, clock and the tone when you locking the doors.
