Key FOB Warning
#17
OR go relax in a leather chair at the dealer watch tv, drink a soda, eat a cookie, and chit chat with the hot receptionist for 5 mins while they fix it for you and pay 17 bucks. Dont think that is going to break anyone here
thats probably better than stepping foot in a walmart

I have had the key fob low battery warning light on for over one year. With the fob in my pocket, everything has been responding properly without the need to change out the battery, although I have a spare battery waiting in the glove box. I think the warning system is way too sensitive. Ignore it and keep a spare battery handy...order the fob cover from user Terrycs ...he includes a spare battery, I think about $7 ( http://www.activetechdesigns.com/7701.html ).

There are instructions for changing the battery in your owner's manual. No need to drive to the dealer and pay extra, just pick up the right batteries for a few bucks at amazon or whatever.
Buy an extra to keep in the glovebox or something also. But your key will still work (at least for a while) when it's "completely empty." You can open the door with the detachable metal key and then put it in the slot to start the car.
