sound from car when A/C is on
After driving for a while in my car with A/C on, my car makes an noise that i can hear from inside the cabin...its really disturbing and i was wondering if you guys heard it.
its only when the car has A/C on, is in idle, and after i've driven at least 3 or 4 miles with the A/C on. It goes away if i press on the clutch or if i turn the A/C off.
Do any of you have this same problem?

interesting. i think i know what you're talking about...but it doesn't go away when i push the clutch in (i'm pretty sure it's normal though; kind of like a click that comes on when you turn it on while you're driving - you can feel the car slow down a bit too as the accessory pulleys work). i get that "turbine" sound though?

it isn't just a single click...not sure how to describe the sound but it bugs me....doesnt sound right. My other cars never had this noise when the A/C was on.

That click sound you guys describe is actually normal in my opinion though

I'm not sure but I think you're describing a combination of two common G issues. One, the AC compressor commonly sounds like crap - like a rattling whining turbine, and as described by someone above it happens under certain conditions. Second, the throw out bearing on the manuals can sound like crap too, like there is gravel in the clutch or something. The throw out bearing will come and go when you hit the clutch at idle.
The AC noise is almost amplified when combined with the throw-out bearing, which might be why it sounds like it comes and goes with the clutch.
Dealers will replace the AC compressor if they can replicate the AC noise, they did for me, however the noise came back within a year. I dont think they will do anything about the throw-out bearing noise.
