if you keep up with routine maintainence then any car is reliable. heck, my 1989 mitsubishi galant was reliable

+1.....I was tired of the excessive $$$ and inconvenience of repairs to my low mileage seven year old BMW....and reliability is part of the reason I acquired the G.

I hate to contradict a fellow forum member, but CR data and the experiences of many drivers (including me) indicate otherwise.

There are many complaints in the auto forums of the least reliable brands. Also, as a typical example, try Googling "VW reliability." Lots of material.

On the other hand, the forums of the more reliable brands generally lack this unhappy material.

You should watch a video of a guy over at CR driving the 09 G37, someone here once posted it. I can assure you only a very small fraction of people here have driven the car that hard. I am nowhere close to that, I am still struggling with the feeling of weightlessness in the curve

CR uses professional or is it retired professional drivers when rating how sporty these cars drive. The fact that they rate the G37 as the top pick in this segment should be testament to the fact that they put sportiness ahead of luxury in the segment. Remember CR were the first to drive the GX460 so hard to detect that it had issues with the tail hanging a bit too much. C&D and MT did not catch this and they are supposed to be the hard drivers.

Try to find the 09 G37 video on CR, you will be impressed at both the car and the driver

Really? Because they have ranked the G37 the best sports sedan for the last 4 years running.
