How did it hold up? The bumper on the G is meant to break away during a crash. I need to tow my bike to the track as well. I have the G37S. Got the curt hitch and all. But hesitating on the install since I've been reading more on it. Did you have to reinforce the support that holds the bumper? They are tact welded.
Nope, just bolted it on and made sure it was torqued appropriately. I never once had any issues with towing or using a bike rack. You actually have to break the welds and remove that part and secure the hitch to it and then bolt it back in place. Takes about 20 minutes. There is some trimming you need to do on the bumper and lower rear valence.

Can you text me. Don't understand. If you break the weld how will the bumper attach to the frame? I'm talking about the bumper support and not the bumper itself.

Use this video to do the install, it explains everything.
I cringed a little watching that video where he hole saws the bumper cover behind the license plate. It's not necessary, you can put those 2 lower bolts in by just pulling the plastic out a bit. Tip: black plasti-dip does a nice job covering up the shiny square washer and bolt head where it attaches to the frame loop. As someone else noted, no need to worry about the bumper moving, I also tow a 1500 lb load about 3000 miles a year with no problems.

I didn't drill those holes either and also plastidipped all the stuff to hide them.
Passenger Vehicles – Infiniti does not recommend trailer towing with EX35, G37 Coupe, or G37 Sedan
vehicles. DO NOT tow a trailer with G37 Convertible or M35/M45 vehicles.
I contacted U-haul about a hitch, and they said I would have to use straps if I wanted to put a bike or cargo rack on the hitch.
Does anyone with a hitch use straps to secure their bike rack to the car, or do you just connect the rack to the hitch receiver?
That seems very unusual. A hitch should not move and should not require any sort of straps. I think it would be more up to the design of the bike rack you get that mounts to the hitch though. Maybe they make them, but the ones I have seen just lock into the hitch.

Thanks for the info. Maybe U-haul is just covering its butt, but now I am considering buying a Curt hitch instead. Curt has a video indicating their Class I and II hitches are often used for bike racks, and they show a bike rack hanging from a hitch with no additional strap support.
One of the main reasons I am considering a hitch is because I expect it to be easier to attach and remove a bike rack. Also, I'm concerned about scratching from a trunk rack.
