I'm a little surprised to see that they are only able to squeeze 20 city/29 highway out of the smaller engine. That's not a far cry from the 18/26 you get with another 100+ hp and 82 lb-ft of torque.
Disappointing performance and economy tradeoff from the smaller 6, IMO. I guess there's parity with the competition, though.
And no nav? Are they nuts?

I agree with this 100%. Infiniti has prided themselves on advanced technology and navigation is becoming an automotive standard in today's industry. I guess that's the difference which will divide people between the G25 and the G37
You can buy a $16,000 Honda Fit with Navi but not in a $34,xxx Luxury Sedan.

you can add navi in the G25, just as a dealer installed option, not from the factory.
you will be suprised how many people don't need the full premium package -- i will say 40% of clients just want bluetooth, back up camera, and heated seats... moonroof isn't even a must.
I wish they made the rear sonar sensors b/c people like that too.
But most of us on the forums will stick with the bigger engine G37 vs the G25 anyways.

If the G35 came with an lsd and a stick, i wouldn't mind getting one over the 37.

that's not much. are you including less weight for package options as well, like moon roof and wheels? how does the tsx manage to keep the weight down and the G remains so bloated?

Theres not much weight loss because its still a V6, smaller but still a V6 compared to the TSX which has an I4.
@ da mayor.......Is the dealer installed Nav like the one from the factory or is it a garmin or something installed on the dash?

I wonder how long it will be before Infiniti makes the 6MT only available on the G25? It just seems that most car companies that still offer manual trans cars will only allow you to get them on the models with the smaller engines. One notable exception is obviously BMW, but still, manual transmissions are getting more rare and it sucks if you have to buy the small engine to get one.

That was a good write up. The more I read about it the more I kinda like it. Will I ever get one? No but it will be a good entry-level option for new luxury car buyers or for people not wanting all the extras. the price is perfect too and as far as the lack of navigation really shouldn't be an issue for some. I have had navi in every infiniti I have had and I honestly can say I might have used the thing maybe 10 times in each.(I lease so I don't have my cars very long) plus with cell phones being able to get you to where you need to go just as fast then to me its not that big of a deal if it has it or not. Oh and a post about a $16k fit having navi and this g not having it... Seriously? You cross shop a FUGLY Honda and infiniti? C'mon man!! LOL

I agree that it is ridiculous for ANY car with even a semi-luxury nameplate to not have factory navigation offered AT LEAST as an option. There is something wrong here when you can get factory navigation on a cheap econobox, but you can't get it in a G25....only to be "forced" up to a G37 if you want factory-installed navigation.
