I got the Nav mainly for the back-up camera. But I'm glad I did as the only thing I want suctioned cup to my windshield is my radar detector.

Although I have a Garmin in our other car and it's only up when we are going to use it. As opposed to all those people that drive with their Nav unit units on their windshield all the time regardless whether or not it's being actually used.

Regardless as a consumer I want the option to buy it without having to step up to the more expensive G37.

I do love having the backup camera though! That is an option they added to 2010 without having to buy the Nav. Maybe they did this because not everyone would value the Nav that high on their list but everyone would use the back up camera? I use it all the time.

yeah, In the past it the back-up camera was integrated with the Nav package. But now that I have the Nav I do use it when i need it.

Being able to buy the car with back-up cam and no nav is what threw the 2010 into my price range over buying a used G35 with nav! I would have liked the nav on my 2010, but I couldn't justify the extra price since I was already spending so much on the car and already own a garmin (only used on trips).

As for the new G25, I think it would be a nice feature to be able to add on nav. Not everyone needs a 300+ hp engine, but a lot of people would enjoy the nav. Perhaps this will be a feature in later years if this car does really well! (which I suspect it will). I feel like I see Gs all over the place now. With a cheaper model, it's going to be EVERYWHERE. haha

I have 2 Gig hard drive with my package. Who needs almost 10 Gig when you have your ipod intergration. The only time I actually use our portable GPS is when trying to find a High School that my son is playing football at on a Friday night. And that's only during the playoffs when I am not familiar with the High School. C'mon Man!!
You're right, Crooney. You only use nav to find an unfamiliar high school, so that must be the limit of its use for everyone else considering buying the car. Also, buying a car with 300 hp should negate the need for creature comforts (except for wood trim, apparently). We should all sell these POS cars with amenities and buy Mustangs.

Oh wait, Mustangs have nav as an option, too...

Its by choice, during the week I am mostly with my family and when family is in the car, spirited driving is the least of my concerns.

I would like to chime in on the Navi debate, like others, an intergrated Navi is a must. I am in the market for an SUV right now (meaning for the next 6 months, damn recession) and even with the next SUV it will also have Navi. This debate is not necessary IMO, its dependant on different value systems, on one end of the spectrum its a pointless expense, on the other end, the intergration is worth every penny.

One major thing that most people don't realize, is that ALL of the systems in the car are sped up with the Nav. This includes bluetooth, screen response, etc.

It's just not something you notice unless you have a lot of seat time in car both with and without the nav, and use them.

I wouldn't get a G without the nav; the integration is simply superb.

We have the Nav in the M35 and I don't notice the system being faster. My G does not have the NAV and the BT and screen response is the same as the M.

That's because the 08 M you have uses the old DVD based system, which is just as slow as non-nav G's. 07+ G's and 09+ M's with the newer HDD based navs have much faster response. Think iphone versus old windows phone.

My '10 non-nav is completely responsive. Never had any issues. But of course the screen probably isn't as good quality...not that it's needed if you're not using nav. I'm sure the integration is great, but I do like how the newer models don't have so many features bundled into the nav package.

I dont think my 2010 rims are bad, but i do like your 09's better. Also check out the 2010 rima when the car is rolling, they look alot better. maybe that is what they intended
