G37x Gas Mileage? Can owners post their lifetime average & miles? Trading my 08

I am VERY unhappy with the 15mpg lifetime average I have recorded after 36,000 miles with my 2008 G35x .
I am considering moving to a 2009+ G37x sedan.

Can owners post real world numbers on the gas mileage they are recording?

Thank you.

I have a 2010 G37x. Now at 4,000 miles, lifetime MPG slowly increased to 16.6.

TT C6: where do you live?

Whenever I goto chicago for a week or two I notice I only average about 12-13mpg. When I am here in Detroit I average about 18mpg.

After only about 2000 miles, I'm averaging right around 19.5 mpg with a mix of intown and highway miles. The car's MPG seems to be very bi-modal, which means that I can get 27-28-29 MPG in pure highway driving at 65+ mph, but only get 12-15 MPG in stop-and-go tooling around the neighborhood or in traffic, no matter how much I baby the acceleration.

how do you get lifetime mpg, i thought you were supposed to reset the average mpg counter after every fill up to get your true mpg?

Don't go by the average mpg reading in your dash. I find it pretty inaccurate. A better way would be to go a full tank, see how much you've filled up. Then divided it by the amount of total distance traveled on that tank.

ucla_bruin's calc method will surely work, but what about the mileage reading from Info button? Is that accurate?

Pretty $hitty mpg

actually, i'm not all that happy with the gas mileage either. on a good tank, i get about 24 average - 500ish to a tank. but like i said, that's on a GOOD tank with a different brand of gas (76) versus chevron.

I'm not happy with the gas mileage either, but it's a luxury/sports sedan. It's got a 330 HP engine in it. If I wanted good MPG, I would have bought an 80 HP Prius, but instead I bought an Infiniti. Enjoy the ride, don't worry about MPG =)

getting 19.5 to 20.6 typically in mixed driving with 1/2 local short trip suburban driving. probably would see 24.5 straight highway at 80mph
