Tint job
So, I am getting my car tinted this wednesday, with 10% all around. The guy that is doing the install, says that he will remove the drivers and passenger front, rear and quarter windows. The installer says that the tint will dry faster this way and will make for a cleaner install.
The question I have has anyone else had their tint done the same way and was there any problems?

Dude I have never heard of windows being removed to tint, and I can't imagine why he would need to. I would be very hesitant to let someone tear my car apart like that. My tint job is very clean and they didn't even remove any trim, let alone the whole windows!
Have you ever driven a car with 10% tint at night?! Good luck!

I called Car Optics Car Optics Window Tinting it is going to cost $180 and it will be done in about an hour. Better than removing the windows and waiting all day.

This is my tint rule;
If they have to remove panels and whatever they claim. They are not good enough to tint windows in tight spots.
I got my windows tinted without getting anything removed (besides a water bottle on the floor).
15% is great driving at night,

lol removing the panels to remove the windows will cause more harm. you don't know how careful he will be, you might end up with rattles and missing parts. Too much trouble, just get it done normally.

hey, it MIGHT work out fine.. but then again, a lot of us have gotten excellent tint jobs done without any removal of the door panels or anything like that.
if your feel daring, try it! its your money

mindonmatter: I don't have any tint on my windows. Thinking of getting it done. I hasve tinted windows in other cars - on the rear windows - stock. What did you mean about seeing at night? 10% is too strong?

Ok i own a window tinting shop in ny, and i did remove my glass from the entire car to tint it.... Now before everyone gets all crazy i did it because i wanted to install a nano film that suntek makes. It gets lighter at night and goes to a full 5% during the day. Because of the extreme cost of this film i removed the glass to ensure a 110% install absolutley no specks of any kind. I also applied it to my windsheild.
From a 12 year window tint stand point, i have to say that no job is perfect there is always a chance the dirt or water can extract some kind of imperfection in the film somewhere. But removal on a regular customer basis is absolutley ridiculous... And i would ask them if you can be present for the install. Chances they are bs you about the removal. How much are they charging you if i may ask? What brand film?
