next generation G37 info
not sure if you guys knew this and wanted to keep you all informed. i was reading this in the august edition of road and track while in the waiting room at discount tire so don't flame me if the facts are not exactly how things were stated.
the next generation g sedan styling will have more of a european look while the coupe will be radically changed with a more sporty appeal.
there will be a hybrid electric/gasoline engine offered derived from nissans current 3.5L engine putting out 400hp. they said the car with this engine would have a price tag of around 60k while the standard offering would be around 37k.
thats all they had along with a drawing of what the coupe might look like.

Ugh-ly
They need to stop this "concept drawing/illustration" crap. 99 times out of 100 the "drawing" looks nothing like the real thing.....
As for the link; this is the part that caught my eye:
So to save on gas, a customer has to SPEND an extra $30K????
Uh...yeah; where do I sign?

Naturally, the car’s fuel economy will also be greatly improved. Our sources say the price tag of the hybrid car will probably be around $60,000 (versus about $35,000 for the gasolinepowered version).

That price is ridiculus though.

The ONLY thing I am concerned about is the introduction of Mercedes V6 engines in Infinitis. If that happens Nissan will lose this customer (not that they care). I am not too worried about everything else as Infiniti left *a lot of room* for improvement in interior and paint quality and given the step up from 1st to 2nd gen, this should not be an issue in the 3rd gen.
