Is Your Outside Temperature Gauge Accurate?
Compared to my old 07 G35X, the outside temp Gauge appears to be way Off? Local weather reports will indicate 78 degress, my guage on the dash will say 82-83 degrees. I complained to dealer a few weeks ago, but they told me some bullsh** that it measures the temperature and humidity , kinda like a heat Index?? That doesn't sound right. I think Infinti changed the location of the sensor in the engine compartment and that may be the reason. It's a petty thing, but hey, I like things to work properly as they are designed to and marketed to.

hispeed - you have an 09. Mine was very accurate in my 07, but it's typically 5 degrees or more too much. When temps in NY were hitting 94-95, readings were while travelling on the highway, 100-102 degrees....in traffic worse.

wow...that is WAY off then. If I open up weatherbug on my iPhone while I am sitting in my car my temp gauge is usually w/in 1-2 degrees if not spot on...that is just a normal variation IMO...but 5+ degrees seems like something might be off.
I don't know, maybe they just moved it a bit from 09->10, I'm not sure

temp gauge pretty accurate, except when sitting in sun or when traveling on very hot days the radiating heat coming from interstate throws it off a little or sitting in traffic.. All that is expected and with normal operating parameters.

My temperature gauge is usually off by a few degrees when i first get in the car on a hot day, but after about 10 minutes of driving its usually dead on give or take 1 or 2 degrees. Nothing Major.

My car is usually spot-on with temp readings compared to local billboard temp readings or even my own outdoor thermometer.

Mine said 117 degrees the other day (Dallas, it was 104 at 5:00 PM) - the car was on a black tar parking lot, facing the sun. Once I drove it about 5 minutes it was down to the correct temp.
Hey, it's a thermometer, it measures the temp around it. When placed in the front near the hot engine it can read high unless you're moving.

right on! if it's hot it's hot, if it's cold it's cold. why do you need to know exactly? so you can make one of those useless cellphone calls to tell someone how cold or hot it is? people need waaay too much information these days
