Audi Convert

With my head firmly stuck up my a$$ I was always a fan of German cars. I owned a 2004 Aud A4 3.0 6MT which I had to get rid of two years ago when I started a new job with a company provided 2008 Ford Taurus. After “sailing” around the Northeast in my land yacht for 2 years I was finally able to pick out my own car this week. Another new job = new car. I test drove the usual suspects (Audi S4, Audi A4 2.0T, BMW 335xi, MB C300) and only stopped in to the Infiniti dealership after reading some of the posts on this forum. I was blown away by the G37. Decided on a 2010 G37XS (Blue Slate) which I am picking up in a few hours.<O</O
<O</O

Can’t wait to start getting some more research done and build my tuner checklist. Great info on this site….you guys convinced me to give the G a shot and the car did the rest. Considering the price ($37,800 + tax and title), I am still kicking myself for not looking at the G earlier. <O</O

Without a doubt...I want to get a list together to get the most for my money first. After dropping the cash for the car I don't want to make the same mistakes I made with my Audi. I bought mid range quality crap that I ended up having to upgrade. Gotta get some research done first....was thinking exhaust, coilovers, and intake first.

Exhaust - Fast Intentions

Coilovers - You're only option for now is BC coils

Intake - Most get Injen. You're not really going to get any power from these engines with bolt ons so don't expect it (especially without a tune), however, they do sound great.

Congrats and welcome.

Isn't BC the only brand that comes for the X?

Before going bolt-ons which arent going to give you the same effect they did on your boosted audi, i would recommend the following:

Coilovers: BC (can someone verify that KW are made for the X, i dont think so)
I just ordered BC coils and from what ive researched they are the best for the money, i got mine 931 shipped. Keep in mind, BC is the OEM for Megan and Stance afaik.

Sway Bars: Hotchkis are the only option at the moment but the front is not adjustable. Eibach has just released F&R 3-way adjustable sways which is what ill be waiting for

Front Strut Bar: i think GT Spec is the only one at the moment. makes a diff in body roll and turn in handling IMO.

The reason i suggest suspension first is if your looking to improve performance/handling then intake and exhuast will let you down IMO, coming from a boosted car. An intake on our cars is a negligible HP increase, exhuast does increase but like with a boosted car.

Pics are from an iphone so not the greatest. I can't stay in my office. I keeping coming up with excuses to go take a ride somewhere. This thing is friggin awesome.

I've read multiple posts on proper "break-in" driving. I'm trying to keep it under 5K rpm's but telling a new G37 owner not to punch it is like handing a 10 year old a BB gun and telling them not to shoot any squirrels. It's not gonna happen...

Where are you located? I got a pretty good deal in CT (I think) and found soem great prices on Long Island as well. $37,200 + tax + title put me at $40K out the door.
