Synthetic Oil

Hey everyone I was wondering with the new 3.7 what synthetic oil do you guys put I remember with my 06 I heard that Mobil one I think was bad for our engines. I use to put the Q motor oil or Royal purple. What do you guys put and any info on the oils you guys put pros & cons.

Thank you Mike

royal purple doesn't do much better than mobil 1. if you're on a budget, try pennzoil ultra/platinum. if not, get redline/amsoil. redline's ester based (what i'm running).

Mobil1 w/ Mobil1 filters have been good for both my Gs w/ changes every 5k. My oil consumption has always been very minimal (at 5k the oil is still at the high mark on the dipstick) and no valve noise.

IF I were going to synthetic, I would look at using German Castrol 0w30 from autozone.

Or Redline...............

Or Motul................

If you change it every 3750, most any certified 5W-30 oil will do fine. Ironically, I'd shy away from Nissan Ester oil though.

If you want to run 5000-7500 miles between changes (or longer), then you'll need to search the forums here, the 370Z forums and the BITOG forums for oils suitable for extended drain intervals. You'll probably want to try some of those oils out on your car, and get a laboratory analysis done.
