Climate Control Auto Fan Adjustment -- Bluetooth
Help! I'm going nuts trying to find a setting that I've inadvantly changed. When my car was new, I noticed that making a call using Bluetooth would automatically slow down the fan speed on the climate control system so I could be heard clearly. When I ended the call, the fan speed would go back to where it was before the call. Very cool feature.
Somehow this setting has been turned off, and I have no idea where it might be in the menu options. If anyone knows how to get to this setting in the maze of menus, I'd greatly appreciate the help!

Hmmm, I used to have an M and it did that for speaking instructions into the Nav (i.e. address, dial, etc).
I have an 08 G and I don't remember it lowering the fan speed. Maybe it did and I didn't realize it but I'm not sure.
I am waiting for my 2010 G to come in so I also don't know if the 2010's added this or not.
I know that wasn't much of a help but I'm interested in the answer to this as well.

No idea how or why it stopped. I had the dealer do the "recall" on the direction of the seek buttons for radio stations, but that shouldn't have had an impact on this.

Tested it today on the drive home. Outside temp according to the dash was 99 (it was exaggerating a few degrees as usual) and the AC was on auto and quickly shot up to full blast after I started the car.
I hit the voice button, and the fan lowered while I gave the voice command to make a call. As soon as the call actually started ringing, the fan increased again.

I don't think its a menu item....its built into the system.
I think it's a clever and easy feature for a car to have...its just computer programing. I have an 09...and it does it on mine. As others have stated...its only when using voice commands/nav commands...etc. It has never done it when the car is connected to a call.
I think the poster is confused.

Tried on my 08 again last night.
When I use the voice commands to dial the number the system does lower the fan speed for better voice recognition. Once I'm done though - the fan goes back up.
If I dial from my phone but use the BT connection, there is no lowering of the fan.
So maybe you were getting the fan speed lowering and then not noticing the increase once the call started?
Hmmm, seems like something the manual should mention right?
