Any Former Acura Owners Here?

Wondering if anyone here came from an 04-08 Acura TL to a 07-09 G35/37 and what their impressions are in the differences between the two cars?

Close, but no cigar, I had a 2002 TL. But I had a family member that I sold an 04 TL for that I drove for about 2 months.

I certainly would not choose one over the G37 simply because of the front wheel drive versus rear wheel drive differences.

HEY !!! I miss that darn car!!! Albeit I can't complain with my new 2010 6MT G37S.
You must've been on acurazine, yes?

3G 2005 TL A-Spec'd
It was DEFINITELY a nice car, but underpowered from the perspective of the G. I think the aesthetics on the TL > than the G. I wish Infiniti had an "aspec" like the TL did; it flows SO WELL with the car. The aerodynamic lip on the Infiniti is meh. Interior wise, I've fallen in love with the G's, but the Acura definitely has a phenomenal interior. Still miss it.

meh...couldn't get a frontal shot; photobucket was down.

We leased a 2005 TL for the wife (automatic without nav) and I owned a 2005 TSX. Both Acuras were great cars and we had zero issues. They both rode good performed well and have great interiors. Things I like about the 2005 TL over the Infiniti is the interior is better laid out and the sound system in the TL (ELS Audio) is FAR BETTER that this Bose piece of crap that is in the Infiniti. The 2005 TL sound system is the best stock system I have ever listened to. For me the Infiniti has better seats than the TL (the TSX had better seats than our Infiniti (G37x). The new TLs are ugly as hell and that is the only reason we do not own one today (my wife loved her 2005 TL). 2005 TL also got much better fuel mileage than the Infiniti and the engine was silky smooth. I like the power of the Infiniti, the looks and the 7 speed auto transmission. Comparing a front wheel drive Acura to a rear wheel drive Infiniti is probably not fair. Some people like front wheel drive and some like rear wheel drive. We got AWD and so far after 4 months and 3700 miles it has been and better continue to be trouble free. Acura or Infiniti is a tough choice as they are both fine cars.

Yes, I had a 2007 TL Type S.

Did a bunch of mods to it as well. TEIN Coilovers, Volk 2 Piece wheels, sway bars, etc..

I loved that car, everything about it really. Just wanted something different as that was my 2nd TL in a row.

When we bought our GS 350 I knew I wanted a sportier car with RWD. I looked at everything under $50K and felt the G was the best bang for the buck out there.

Couldn't be happier with my decision and my Acura buddies are loving the new ride!

My mother just got rid of her TL for an MDX. I really liked that TL....it was a good looking car and a nice ride.

The new TL looks like warmed-over crap. The current generation TSX is what the TL should have become instead of that batmobile looking crap it is today.

The new TL is so ugly that I didn't even bother to go to the dealer to look at one. It was out of the selection process at the get go.

^^^ Agreed

I test drove both the automatic and 6-speed with summer tire package, both in SH trim. The 6-speed was talked up pretty good. It didn't impress me at all. The interior was VERY nice, and the technology and nav are still a little bit better than the G in my opinion. However, the outside is horendous. The guys over on the Acurazine board are doing all types of things to mix it up.

The G has the complete package. Everything is just there and the engine as we all know is amazing. It's a good looking car as well!

Had a 2002 RSX-Type S for about 9 years and finally traded up to the G37S this year. Love the G, but will always miss the RSX-S.

i had a beautiful 2004 arctic blue tsx. it was so much fun to drive on twisty roads, but it was a little underpowered. for instance, i didnt like being passed by some douche in a nissan pathfinder going top speed at 130 mph (yeah, yeah spare me the lecture about street racing - i was young and stupid).

they shouldve made a tsx coupe with the s2k engine. i might've stayed in the acura family had they did.

Had a 90 Integra GS, a 96 Integra GSR, a 2003 TL-S and a 2005 TL six speed. All great cars. The TL's both had transmission recalls. I just could not get close to the new TL's styling when we traded the TL-S in on a 2009 G37 AT Journey Premium. All great cars in their own right.
