^ in all honesty, i've got from a cobra (old school) to an escort passport 9500ix. they both work(ed); the passport supposedly has longer range and blah blah blah. i really do feel like all radars work the same; the passport was EXPENSIVE...gives me a sense of ease though, since it's a top brand. having a radar, whatever brand it may be, makes getting out of tickets WAY easier. "I caught you speed in a 35 mph zone. I'm sorry officer, my radar didn't go off." Most of the time, state patrol tries to MAKE YOU CONFESS how fast you were you going..."do you know how fast you were going?" "uh...maybe 70 in a 60??" I've learned the hard way unfortunately.

I cant believe ford has built a na v6 with 300 hp. and the new v8 is incredible. I guess they finally decided to get with it. before they could only get 200hp from a 3.7 liter

I have a Passport 8500. I get some, mostly X band which is not used around here. Most of the others are when I am around stores that have auto door openers and I don't need it anyway.
You learn quickly to slow down when it goes off for K or Ka, over hills, around corners. You still need to keep alert though. There are many cops that will use instant on radar. If you watch though you can usually either spot them before they turn it on or watch for the brake lights of the cars in front of you. Most everyone will brake reflexively if they see a patrol car on the side of the road.
