Good price on tint?

I have an appt to get my G37 tinted next week. The guy is going to tint it all the way around as dark as is legal (which is only 35%, IL doesn't let anyone have fun) and give me a lifetime guarantee for $240. I have never had anything tinted before, but I was expecting it to be higher when the guy her referred me said he was "a little expensive." I figured it'd be $300 or so. So is this good, average, not-so-good? Thanks.

I had 35% put on my front door windows and 18% put on the rest. When he was done I had him check a front door window with his meter and it came out 28%, which is still legal in Florida.

You might keep that in mind, since the stock windows have some tint in them already, when you add a certain percentage film, it will come out darker then the film percentage.

I had carbon film put on that is not suppose to interfere with the cars radio, or Nav. It cost more then the regular film by about $20. The whole job came to $ 182.00 including taxes.
It is probably cheaper to get the film done in Florida, since so many cars have it done here.

I also told him I didn't want the film cut out around the upper rear brake light. Some states you can't have film between the rear glass and the break light. I figure if I ever get pulled over for it, all I have to do is cut the film around the brake light, so there is no film between it and the windshield.

What kind of tint? That's the deciding factor.

I spent $240 for 35% carbon all aorund on my sedan down in Atlanta. That sounds about right. In atlanta I found places that would do it as cheap at $180 but they had terrible reviews...

That's pretty much what Ive been quoted $200-240 lifetime warranty here in central New Jersey for all windows besides windshield, even though no tint is "technically" allowed on fronts in NJ.

Tint

I just had my G37 sedan tinted all around 20% for 130. it was a client of a friend of mine who does it at your home, so its cheaper. He also tinted my wifes volvo xc90s front windows for 50 (25 each window). Awesome work, and he told me he was using very good tint. No warranty ofcourse cause legal is 35% in florida, but since hes a friend, he would come back to fix if there was a problem. Heres 2 pics of the car since!

totally agree. tint is not tint is not tint. There are a lot of poor quality tint products out there so find someone near you that provides premium matierals.

As for price, 250-350 is good for the premium skins. I had mine tinted last month with SolarGard Quantum film for $310, all glass except for the windshield....going back for that.

Quality film matters, especially in the long run. Good luck.

side note....find someone who has all the pieces cut on a computerized plotter. Absolutely the best fitment possible and even better is when they take the time to lightly file the tint edges at the very top of the glass so there is no visible tint edge. Makes the glass look like it was dipped.
