Got a G37 one week ago... and got rear-ended

I was recently rearended by a 1987 Chrysler Fifth Avenue so I feel your pain. The guy admitted liability and his Ins Company paid. Your results may vary depending on the specifics of the accident and the laws of the State you live in. However, either way, to you the most it will cost is the deductible so don't stress it too much.

sorry to see this man. Definelty not a total. My brothers G37 coupe had a similar looking accident but his looked worse and it was $10,000 so I think you will be ok. Good luck my man.

I just went through a collison repair with USAA, and it worked out... in the end.
I was not happy with the repair when I went to pick it up, and told the shop
- they said, "Oh! It's OK, good as new! Can't get it any better than that!"
Well, I let them know that I would not take it until it was back to pre-crash condition, and would have USAA come by for an inspection.
So I called my USAA rep and told him what was going on and he handled everyting from there. He ended up going on four more inspections before calling and telling me it was good to go.
It really is good to go now, but you have to make sure you do NOT accept the car until you are happy. You will never look at it the same way again if you accept less than perfect. USAA has very strict guidelines for repair shops and will do everything possible to make you happy, but only if you get them involved when needed.

that's messed up.
hopefully you can get a really good shop to get it right.
ask the insurance company for one of the direct repair facilty.
(shop that handles all the work & when promised.)
then the insurance co is liable for how the end product is.
good luck with the repair.
I had a 5k accident.

My G was totalled out from a similar accident.
The key was that my car's unibody was nicked; the right side was nudged ever so slightly, about 1/8" off.
That, alone, diminished the value of the car so much that the car was totalled out. The other party's insurance obviously wanted to fix the car, as it would cost them less, but I asked that they conduct a market analysis to determine the market value of the car after the repairs, taking into consideration the damages involved. At that point, they declined to do the analysis and agreed to total out the car.
From pictures, board members estimated at most 2-3k damage.

a car's a car...and you have your life to be thankful for, right? i do however, would have understood if you had gotten out of the car and beat the other driver to a pulp. best of luck with the repairs. no matter what anyone tells you, after an accident like that, your car will...very unfortunately, never be the same
