Anyone has the factory impact sensor alarm?

How sensitive is it? It looks like a pretty cheap option. Will this be simple DIY add on?

I have this on my car. The dealer added it on before I took the car. Shouldn't be too hard to add on afterwards. The sensitivity is adjustable to 11 levels, I had mine set in the middle. I haven't gone bumping my car to try to set it off but it also is a glass breakage sensor as well, something I don't plan on testing.

I can tell you this much, it is very sensitive. I had the dealer set mine down to #7 and I know it works well. Well worth it. I believe that there is someplace in the "search" that tells how to set it. I had the dealer do it as I did not want to get involved with it.

It's only about $65. So cheap that's why I want to get it. I searched around a bit and although it's not a direct plug and play, the install doesn't seem that difficult.

When I ordered mine it was $130.00 bucks. I looked at it as if I got an after market installed it would have been around the same.

To Adjust:

The panel under the passanger side dash. Use your finger to pull down.
It just three clips to clip on.

Now look up the right in the side cover, the unit is right there.

DUH, nowwwww that is totally too easy. I hate when my boss starts up his M3 with a vorstiener exhaust that sounds like a rattle can of spray paint and my alarm goes off because the sound reverbs in my office garage so much......this is the most helpful info I have found in a while.......

I just found out how sensitive is mine set. I had the car locked, pulled its wiper and released it, the impact caused the alarm to go off. I guess it's set to high sensitivity.

Just done installing the sensor. It was very easy to do. All you gotta do is tap three wires to the BCM. Posi taps are included which makes tapping wires a snap (I never tap a wire in my life b4 this)

The sensor doesn't seem very sensitive, I set it to the most sensitive setting, and I had to give a decent kick to the front tire to set it off. For now I just leave it on medium (level 7).

Overall I think this is a good add-on. Very easy to install and it's cheap. I paid about $73 for it.
