Sunoco Oil and Fog Light switchout

Hey Guys,

So I went to the dealer where I bought my car and inquired about an oil change (car has 5k miles so bringing it in for it's first) and whether they use Nissan ester oil and I was told that they don't carry it because it is too expensive (are you kidding me, you're an Infiniti dealership for crying out loud!). Anyway they use Sunoco oil for their changes, does anybody have any really bad or good experiences with this type of oil, I'd like to especially know on how it is on gas mileage and if it has been better using it, please let me know.

Also the fog light bulbs that came with the car are a God awful color and totally don't match the xenons, I was going to buy some super-white ones on Ebay and switch them out but the same dealership said they would do it for $120, I'd do it myself but it looks like such a hassle cuz it's a 2009 and it has that integrated box, is it really that much of a pain in the a$$ to switch them out on my car?

Any knowledge on either of these subjects would be much appreciated, thanks!

I don't know about the oil, but in order to get to the fog with enough room, you need to take off the bumper. I just changed them out for some HID from a group deal on the maxima.org site. Only change on this car from the one in the DIY bumper removal, is there is 2 screws you need to take out that are under the wheel well.

I hope you are joking that you need to remove the bumper to change a fog light bulb (or any of the integrated headlight bulbs)!?!?!

There's a DIY posted here which says you can get to the fog light through the wheel well (probably will need to remove the wheel)

Or you could remove part of the intake. This might be different for the 2010 with the new fog light placement.

Marc, on the 2010 the fog lights are on the bottom part of the bumper. It is a new design, no longer all incorporated into the headlight. You can just remove the plastic in the wheel well but it will still be limited visibility and working room. I tried that first, and it was just awkward.....but it can be done.

$120 to switch fog light bulbs??? seems about right for a dealership as they all rape you. take your time doing it and it will take less than an hour. then you can buy a nice dinner with that $120
