And yes you are supposed to downshift before the turn like you do a with proper manual gearbox, like Jeremy Clarkson would say. Brake, downshift, enter the turn, and apply the gas throughout the turn.

If you into video games you practice this technique. All paddle-shifter and the even DSG gearbox remind me of the days I used to play Grand Turismo.

2nd and 3rd. I rarely ever used 2nd gear, but I only use the paddles on the HWY. 3rd gear has plenty of power for powering out of a turn. 3rd, 4th, and 5th are my favorite gears.

It's not a bad gearbox, you just need to get used to it. No go out and pick up a use copy of Grand Turismo.

I wonder if the response time with the paddle shifters on 7AT is faster than the response time on 5AT because from my experience the paddle shifters react so slowly to a gear change that I find them useless and would rather shift with the console shifter.

Hmm. I would have thought that they shift the same. I'll try to notice that myself.

A grounding kit can help improve it some. But if you really want to make a difference then get a valve body upgrade from GTM. It makes it shift like the GTR dual clutch.
