I finally did it

Well, I finally had new rims and tires put on. Pleased with the rims (TSW Snetterton 19"), but not with the tires (Goodyear Eagle GT - had A LOT of vibration even after balancing 3 times!). Having the tires replaced with Michelin Pilot Sport AS Plus next weekend. I'll let everyone know how they ride. Please let me know what you think....

looks the the tires are put on backwards. those grooves should be going the other way so water can escape out of the tread

Would that cause the car to vibrate?? I'm not that knowledgeable about such things.

im not 100% sure if the tread is backwards, just looks it to me. but i dont think that would cause the car to vibrate, that would be the balance of the tire. if you had the tire balanced 3 times(assuming the shop is good), and still vibrates then it would have to be the rim itself. (no offense but tsw arent the best of wheels)

i would take it to the shop who put them on and have them figure it out.

Thanks beerme986. That's good to know. I may have to follow up on that suggestion if the change in tires doesn't help.

I think they are asymmetrical and not directional. It looks like your passenger side front is mounted backward on the wheel. I cant see the rears well enough to tell.

Take a look closely at the sidewall. All of them should have a marking that says "OUTSIDE" somewhere on the sidewall if they are asymmetrical. If any of them have the marking that says "INSIDE" on the outside wall, it's mounted on the wheel backward and needs to be reversed. Check it out.

Thanks Black Betty. I immediately went and checked and all 4 wheels have "Side Facing Outwards" on the outside.

Good looking wheels. Just curious, what do you use to clean the tires? I like this look - not tacky but clean looking.
