Loaner G is faster than mine!

Loaner G is faster than mine!
I have my car n the shop for the ECM whine - the dealer gave me a loaner, 2009 journey, and the butt dyno told me it was more responsive, and faster. I took it out to my 1/4 mile 'testing' stretch, ran it a couple of times using Dynolicious, and sure enough, same specs, the car is about .2 to .3 secs faster than my car 0-60, and .1 faster (both times) to the quarter - 5.2 and 5.3 0-60, and 13.7 in the quarter. Has about 15k on the clock, and it's been beat on, tech told me they are running castrol regular dyno in the engine. My question is, why is this car so much faster than mine? Can today's engines really have such a high level of inconsistency? Is it because the engine is more broken in than mine (I have 7800 miles, so about twice as many miles on the loaner). The suspension is much softer/looser as well. Pretty aggravating as I would love to be running 5.2 or so 0-60 instead of 5.5-5.4. My guess is that the engine is more broken in, and producing more power.

I bet if you drove one with 40k miles, you'd notice an even bigger difference. This happens all the time on the long-term tests in C&D, and I think it's generally a normal occurrence.
Do you baby your car? If so, don't. These cars like to be run, IMO.

I'd say its a combination of break in, lighter tires (from being worn down), and adaptive throttle mapping.
The car does take 15-20k miles to fully break in the engine; modern engines have ultra tight tolerances.

The main reason I chose the '10 over the '09 was the fact that Infiniti stopped using that horrible scratch shield paint.

That explains it. I knew it was at least 100 more rwhp. The car is beat to ****, though, front end clunks and rattles when going over potholes or rutted/washboard roads, like the control arms are loose, the interior is trashed!!!, it stinks like an ashtray despite the giant 'do no smoke' sticker on the dashboard, the exhaust rattles, and the rotors need resurfacing something awful. There are also several baaaaaad rattles in the interior. Seriously makes me a little worried about how my G will hold up in a couple of years - I sold my G8 due to build quality issues, and bought the G37 thinking that, while I was seriously losing out on interior space and HP/TQ, that I was gaining a trouble-free car that had its own charm and merits - hope the joke's not on me!
edit: It (the car) was so gross, I spent an hour cleaning the interior and washing the car just so I wouldn't have to drive around in this giant poop pile. Looks much nicer now, not so embarrassed to be seen in the car. Although I did gas it up last night - a CJ7 full of pretty sorority girls was at the next pump checking out the car - I get out all cool, open the gas lid, and out pops the gas cap, right onto the ground, and rolls under the car. They loved that. Was barely even on, and some jackass had broken the plastic string that attaches it to the car. How does somebody do that? I can't believe I didn't get a cel light. I can't believe this car is only a year or so old, it is so beat to hell. But the engine has held up to obvious super-abuse.

Do not baby your G
When I initially got my 08 X, I was gentle with the car and babied it. Then I took it for the 7500 mile service and got a loaner. That thing was a beast, granted I only used my butt dyno but there was no denying how responsive this thing was. The engine would rev the instant you taped the accelerator, whereas with mine you would need to go half way to WOT in order to produce the same effect which would not even match the aggression of the loaner. It was a pleasure to drive that thing and if it was not for the difference in options, I had NAV, I was more than wiling to exchange mine for the loaner
Both were 08s and it had around the same mileage as mine.
Moral of the story, if you baby your G the driving experience will never match those who do not baby this thing.
I have to agree, by the time I got the 10, the 08 had over 40k miles and it was much more responsive and faster. The 10 I have was not babied, even in break in period.
