Here is a quick update. I dropped my car and lip off at the shop today. I got a text from the guy doing the paint/install, and he thinks the fitment is not too good on the lip. There is a 1/2" gap on one of the front "posts" and both are about 1/4" shorter than they should be (they don't make contact with the bumper).

My body guy feels confident that he can make it fit well, but it will involve some hacking and fiberglass work to the 3 spots. He seems to have a lot of experience with these types of issues, and I trust his work. The moral of the story is.... make sure you have a good body person that can work with fiberglass. I knew going in to this that it was a possibility, but I know a lot of people want something easy. It can also get expensive to do this type of work. The guy doing mine is a fellow G club member and hooking me up, but a lot of people aren't as fortunate.

Here are a couple of pics, but he is going to take pics along the way so I can see what was done. He is also doing this to show other locals the type of work he can do, and this is a good opportunity for him to show-off his skills. Again, a lot of fiberglass bodykits (especially cheap knock-offs) needs similar type of work. The work should be done this weekend, and I will post more pics at that time.

Here are some pics of the work being done to make it fit right. Basically, he cut off the 4 areas that had gaps, and will add in additional fiberglass to make it work.

Cool!! great photos! at least I got an idea how much different from the replica and genuine, but the price is still pretty competitive.

yeah the non-sport front lip on a sport is more subtle.

I thought long and hard about it. In the end, it is slighlty cheaper than what I did. I just think it looks too out of place. I like the lip by itself, I just don't think it looks quite right on the sport front.

Here are the finished results. Overall it came out great, and I am really happy with it. Sorry for the crappy pics, but my car is a mess. I will get some better pics when I get the new wheels on and things cleaned up (I am in the process of switching out my Volk's for a set of Advan RS-D's - they are in, and I am just waiting on tires).

That would be great if I had a 2010 (and I do like the 2010 sport lip a lot). I am still not sold on the overall look of the 2010 sport-- I am not feeling the changes they made to the rear, and for some reason the front just does not seem to flow as well. I like the front by itself, but I am just not sure how well it goes with the entire car.

I personally think the 07-09 sport lip looks like a$$, and a 2010 front end conversion is just not practical unless you need to replace a lot of those parts anyway.

I'll get some as soon as I get the car cleaned up, and get the wheels on. It will probably be another week or so.
