well I wouldn't do it.

the only pully that should be swapped, would be the one on a Super Charger.

I hear all this talk about HFC's but I'm having a hell of a time finding any real world gains? You would think that such a popular mod would have more information widely available. I've searched and looked though over 20 threads. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough.

Stillen had theirs dyno'd awhile back. Typical gains for all HFCs are 12-15hp and single digits for torque, if they are the first intake/exhaust mod you install.

I'm new here to the Alamogordo area and was wondering if any of you knew of any good hfc/exhaust installers? Need to find a installer before I purchase anything.

Thanks,
Ron

Ok, it sounds like aftermarket intakes are like aftermarket exhausts for the G37....weak power gains (if any) and more for looks and sound. With that said, what would you guys suggest for an intake if you're weighing in price, ease of install/ filter maintenance, and sound? I could care less if one intake makes 3 more hp than another, as I will never feel that difference.

Ease of install/maintenance... R2c. There's a deal in the Group Buys section.

Non-foulers are just spacers for the O2 sensor that sort of reduces the exposure to the exhaust gas. Most HFCs I've seen pushes the O2 bung back from the stock position and have non-foulers. It's all to help avoid the SES or CEL light.

I'd go R2C as well...just for ease and the fact that it looks good. Almost jumped on it myself, but this being my 3rd car in the Nissan/Infiniti family, I'm well aware of how little an intake will do for the VQ. I remember I had an 03 Maxima and got an Injen intake and replaced the stock Y pipe as well. Honestly felt like I lost power. To me, the G makes enough engine noise...I'd rather turn up the volume on the exhaust.

This engine does not take to tunes or mods very well. The Nissan engineers have wrung almost every damn last drop of HP/TQ out of this thing possible, it's depressing. On my old G8 site, guys with a tune, catback, intake, underdrive and headers go from ~290 rwhp to ~ 340 rwhp. Siggghhhhh. You might be better off slapping some cones on the end of OEM tubes, and wrapping them in the still gen2 heat soak protectors.

IMO, best gains would come from headers, hfc, and catback and a dyno tune - might get 20-25 rwhp extra if lucky; however, from what i've seen, some guys report a **loss** of torque below 3000 rpm. **** that ****!
