Quote for new 37x

Went looking today at the local stealer...and was quoted 469/month with $2000 down, for an 2010 G 37x with everything but the sport package, with the trade of my 04 maxima. I was wondering if this is a good deal, or what you guys were paying. Any input would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Depends. You haven't shared enough information. Lease or Buy? If it's buy, you need to know the terms: length in months of the loan, APR, the exact trade in value of your car, and total sales value of your car.

All of those things should be negotiated separately. Dealerships want to combine them all into one negotiation because that way it's easier for you to overlook some aspect and end up with a high interest rate, an extended term, or a lowball trade-in value.

Never focus on down payment + monthly payments alone. Find a couple loan calculators, get your credit rate, and then you should be able to calculate for yourself what payments would be based on the sale price, your down payment & apr.

If it's lease, it's a bit more complicated of course because you need to know what the expected remaining value of the car is at the end of the lease. I'm not entirely sure how that process all works.

As for your trade-in, go to:
Used vehicles, used car prices, used car values at Edmunds

And you can get a good ballpark of what your trade-in is worth.

I would be buying it, and it was a 60 month term. They were giving me 10,500 for my car, and for the apr...since I haven't committed 100% to it yet, I haven't had my credit ran to get the exact percentage. They ran a pre check and it looked fine to get the 2.9% that they are currently running. The price of the car after the trade in and the down payment was 28,789 or somewhere right around there, I know it was 28 something. Again any input is much appreciated. Thanks again!

Go to Edmunds.com and calculate the TMV (true market value) for
the exact car/color/options in your geographic area and if your
cost is not less than what you calculate on that site, you are
paying more than you need too. Shop around, don't druel and
don't get a rocket in your pocket....salesman are highly skilled
at picking up on those and other things that let them know
you're body language is saying "Please screw me now, I just
gotta' have this car." ALWAYS make them a fair offer. If
you don't know what a fair price should be, and make the
offer they will ALWAYS start high and wear you down to
just a plain ol' screwin' instead of a fair price starting point.
.....It's what they do professionally for a living. Remember
besides what ever amount they can screw you out of, they
also get paid for every car sold by the manufacturer. The
more they move in a month, the more they make per unit.
Remember, they need your sale.

If by everything but the sport you mean premium, nav, and tech packages, for the 2010 G37x at edmunds TMV came up to around $40K. So minus the down payment and trade-in the sale price sounds about average -- meaning you could probably get a slightly better deal. But it certainly doesn't sound like you're being screwed or anything. Run the numbers yourself at edmunds to be sure.

Interest rate sounds good for a 60-month. I had outside financing arranged and the dealership offered a better interest rate, but it was a little higher than that with about 750 credit score. But instead of an interest incentive I got about $5000 in cash incentives they were offering at the time which worked out better.
