I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS THREAD HAS GONE ON THIS LONG!!! How many times can we all reiterate the funtion of ON/OFF - Automatic? really?

In short, no. Nobody has found a way to do what you want, and my guess is that the vast majority of people have no problem with the way it currently works (when the car starts, auto-dimming is on)

I guess you could create a circuit that would "remember" the on/off setting of the mirror everytime you start up the car (like the circuit for remembering the traction control setting). But that's a lot of effort for something so trival (like the traction control setting).
