2010 Recall Notice -- Reversed Radio Seek Buttons
I got a notice this evening that my call is being recalled for a software update because the seek buttons on the radio are reversed. I went out and checked, and sure enough, "up" goes "down" the radio dial, and vice versa.
If they hadn't sent the letter, this is something I likely would have never noticed.

Is this for the 2009's as well? I dont think I have ever noticed and my gf took the car. I think she would find it weird if I called her just to ask instead of waiting for her to get home...LOL

wow i can't believe this one slipped through. I actually work on nav radios and something like this is a simple reflash, but still the plant should be checking the basic functionality of the radios.

Has anoyone noticed that on the 2010 G the steering wheel controls the up/down seek buttons are reversed too compared to previous models? On my 2008 G, moving down on the steering wheel would go to my next preset. On the 2010 G, I have to move up to go to the next preset.

I thought that was what this was about????
Its crazy that if you bring up the channel list you click the steering wheel button down to follow the screen but if the list isn't active on the screen you click up to "down"

I thought this was about the seek buttons on the dash.
Yea coming out of a 2008 G this is annoying me. When your looking at a preset list, down is down (next). But when not in a list, down means back (previous).

it is not logical to have it work as it does now...it is counterintuitive...I go the wrong way every time.
In fact I kinda liked the list staying visible on my old G...I don't like that it only shows the station you're listening to now...sometimes "improvements" aren't improvements at all.

Yes, I knew there was something fishy. Coming from an 08 the radio controls were all reversed, I normally use the steering wheel. I will get this fixed during the 1st service. I took delivery of mine late Jan so anyone else taking delivery around this time will probably have the same problem

I completely agree. At first I thought I wasn't remembering it right also. I don't care if up/down buttons are reversed as long as they are consistent across all views.
The tech on the 2010 has improved in terms of features but some things have been sacrificed...for example the nav is slower when entering an address or POI and have it show up on the map. I don't know if anyone noticed but the cool thing now is that when using bluetooth phone, you can switch to another view (i.e. nav) and remain on the call. In the 2008 G if you were on the call and using the nav, you couldn't switch to the nav while on the phone.

I disagree on the phone issue. On my 08, when the call was not yet connected you could not switch to another view. Once the call was connected, you were free to use the Map etc.
The cool thing that I like is the screen defaults to the Nav screen now rather than the status screen. Over and above the other stuff of course.
