1900 miles and still same oil?

i purchased my car around dec 15th and have about 1900 miles on it and still have not changed the oil yet. Infiniti says the first oil change should be at 3700 or something and it has been about 3 months since i purchased the car and have 1900 miles and stilll haven't touched the oil. any reccomendations on what i should do? is it bad i havent changed it yet and its been 3 months? how many of you still have the original oil in until you hit the 3700 mark?

I had the original oil in it when I hit the 4,700 mile mark! Car was on the road when it passed the 3,750/ three months recommended interval. No problems. Drive it more! Your driving style, weather conditions, and length and number of trips has a greater bearing on the oil than the miles/time interval in my opinion.

Some consider the first oil "break in" oil and that it's life is shortened due to engine break-in. I would change it at the 3500-4000 mile range or six months, which ever comes first. It's not like it's going to damage the engine if you go over a few hundred miles. Driving habits and environment have a larger effect.

I'm in a similar boat. I took delivery of my G37x Coupe on Dec 14th 2009. I'm at about 2100 miles right now. My plan is to wait for about 3700 or so, unless (which I doubt) I'm not there after 6 months of ownership, then at 6 months regardless I will do so.

Oil changes are cheap insurance IMHO. Particularly when you consider that rod and main bearings are breaking-in, together with rings that are just seating, why not change it with a new filter/oil to get the contaminants out after three months?
