Smoky Quartz
I am about to pull the trigger on the 2010 G37 sedan. It is going to be Journey with prem/nav/sport and graphite interior. However, I am having a bit hard time deciding the exterior color.
The two new colors for 2010, Graphite Shadow and Smoky Quartz, look instesting. I kind of rule out GS because it is similar to my current car. SQ is kind of bronze tone of grey color. I have visited several dealerships in SoCal, but have yet to see a G37 Sport in SQ. I know eventually it is my own decision to make, but I would like to hear how others think about this new color.
Even I titled this thread as Smoky Quartz, I am actually still open to all colors, well, except for Vibrant Red. Any comment/input, including that on other colors, will be appreciated.

I went with LP simply because of the low maintenance factor and because it had all the options I wanted. If I had to do it again, I wouldn't have minded something darker like PG. But yeah, I think the SQ looks awesome.

I went with OB understanding all the work that comes with making a black car look good...I think the sedan looks really hot in white and that would have been my second choice.
I had a plat graph coupe...and although it was a cool color, it didn't evoke a strong emotional response even when fully detailed...
IMO...don't look at pictures...you'll be seeing it in "real life" each day...so look at all the colors at the dealers and pick one that makes YOU feel good.

I just bought a loaded g37x sedan
Moonlight White
Wheat interior
wood accents
deck spoiler
premium pkg
nav pkg
splash guards
cargo net
trunk mat
what would you rather see
a dirty car that can be washed(lighter colors) or a darker car with swirl marks eventually
this combo is beautiful

Thank you Kenny for posting these pictures. It will be easier for those who hasn't seen the color to see what color we are talking about. Also thanks go to those who have posted your thought. Really appreciated.

I would have chose white w/black interior, but since I bought an '09 that option wasn't available. I think the white on black looks amazing and if I was buying a 2010, that would be my first choice, no doubt.

Well, I don't think you can judge a lot of these colors based on the pics that appear on the internet. There are some colors that look good more often than not on the web and then there are some colors that more often than not have a harder time looking good in pics. Then it also depends on the quality of the picture taken.
I've seen Smoky Quartz in person and it looks much better than any pic I've seen on the net. However, I don't think it is a sporty color though and it might be rare to find a sport in that color.
Out of the 2 new colors I like the Graphite Shadow. My only concern is whether I would get bored with all the gray. I'd have to see it on cloudy day to see if that kills the look. Usually the "gunmetal gray" type of colors just don't do much for me but GS looks pretty good in certain lights. Winter seems to drag on around here and lot of those days seem cloudy so I'm just not sure about gray colors for me.
For me, I think Blue Slate is still my number one. It too doesn't distinguish itself so much on a cloudy day but at least it has "some" color to it whether it's sunny or not. Then I like Graphite Shadow 2nd.
That's not to say I don't like other colors too. For example, the G37 in Black (when clean) looks the absolute best to me in person and in pictures. However, I'm honest with myself that I would not be able to keep it clean enough to achieve that awesome look so that's off the list.
Some times the White looks so slick to me but I can't see myself getting an all white car. I guess it just doesn't fit me. Then also the Silver looks great to me a lot but I worry that I would turn around and look at it on those numerous, cloudy winter days around here and get bored with it all of a sudden. Same worry I have about the Graphite Shadow.

(1) The front-end design of Sport version of 2010 G37 sedan looks so much better than the non-Sport that it may not be a fair color comparison if not on a level playing field.
(2) Some color may just be "not sporty" looking.
