Saw a key / meter on my screen today
When I got in my car I saw a key and a battery reading on my screen...is that what I saw? First time I saw it, it was right above the temp outside...does that mean my battery is low in my key fob? Is that possible after only 6 months of ownership?

Pretty impressed that it shows you that, I didn't even realize it does that. Do you have a decent amount of time from the first warning, until it totally doesn't work? That brings up a strong question...what if the battery dies in the Key Fob, and your car is locked? Are you S.O.L.?

You can use the key to get into the car and then insert the fob into the dash to start the car.

You have ages before its actually dead. You can open the car with the hard key. You can start the car by putting the fob in the holder even if the battery's dead. If you're smart, you will buy a spare battery and put it in the glove box just in case so you don't ever get caught with it completely dead and no spare.

Oh sweet, I actually have two of them so not that big of a deal...I'm a little confused by the second part of your comment...I though you said that you can open the car with hard key, and start by inserting key fob in the holder, so why would you need the extra battery if you can operate it without that?
