Joe, here's a TDS link: http://www.epc.shell.com/Docs/GPCDOC...0911241744.pdf
I also posted a link to a VOA (virgin oil analysis) a guy had done
on it before he used it so everyone would have some idea of
of what it is....and isn't. Check back a few posts or look at the
"definitive oil thread", I posted it there too.

I took the plunge today as well. We'll see how it goes. Did it at WalMart.
It was $65.59 - a $55 synthetic oil change (no upcharge to go with Ultra), plus one more quart at $6.97 as the car takes 5.2 quarts.
Not bad, you get a vaccuum, tire pressure check, & battery check too!

Taking the G on a road trip early tomorrow morning... headed to Hot Springs AR, from Dallas for a weekend getaway. Looking forward to those windy roads in the hills.

the other jug will go into our Mazda Protege5 - I just swapped the original 120K mile engine for a sub 40K Japanese take out because of a blown head-gasket. I noticed that the original motor had some amount of sludge and brownish oil film on the valvetrain and inside the head oil galley. We bought that car new and I did oil changes every 5-8K miles using conventional oils. I am thinking that is too long an interval for regular oil, even though the factory recommends 7500. So this time I will stick with synthetics and probably still go with the 7500 mile recommendation, since I am pretty confident good synthetics last at least that long.

Car and Driver has an ad for the Ultra oil on page 17, April issue. They're getting it out there in front of us, that's for sure.

Maybe that explains why the stealership charged me for 6 bottles of ester instead of 5.

If the car takes 5.2 quarts, why does this Nissan oil change kit comes with only 5 quarts? Nissan Oil Change Kit
Maybe that explains why the stealership charged me for 6 bottles of ester instead of 5.

I'm guessing the dealership didn't give you the leftovers and wants to open 6 new bottles every time?

Anyway, good to know that it takes a bit over 5 quarts.

I asked Wal-Mart for my partial PU quart bottle, they gave it to me. I would say they used about .2 quarts of it - it was barely used, and the oil is right at the full mark on the stick. Five quarts should do it fine. I'll do mine next time, as well.
