"Creep Groan" anyone?

I have the exact same issue described by the OP JohnsG37x. It is almost as if there is something between the pads and the rotor, or the driver side front caliper isn't releasing. Rocking the car back and forth a foot or so while it is in neutral, I can hear a dull rubbing sound.

If you're releasing the brakes slowly, almost any car will make a dragging/groaning noise as the brakes slowly drag the rotor. Put it in park and do the same thing, and you'll find that there's no noise. You're just hearing the brake pads against the rotor. Let up on the brakes quickly as you pull away from a stop to minimize the sound.
Is this really that bothersome to people? There must be something else to this, because as far as I know, this just means we have good, grabby brakes.

Yeah, of course that makes sense, but it happens in the normal course of driving. Like pulling into the garage. Or out of a parking spot. Or into a parking spot. Or navigating in a parking lot. We certainly can't brake hard every time!

And from what I understand, actual harder braking behaves normally?
You can make any car's brakes groan if you're light enough on them at a light, parking, etc.

Yea, any car will do this, but certain brake pads make it more noticeable. If you have the sport brakes with the dealer installed high friction pad, that'll be the worst case scenario. It's comparible to any BMW, though, which all use a pretty aggressive pad.

This is getting worse on my car, every time I drive my car after it's been parked for a few hours, there is a noticeable brake groan when I feather the brakes while pulling out of my parking space. Has anyone been able to get it fixed at the dealer? My next service appointment is in September.

I think the original post was about something different than the squeal when reversing. The squeal in reverse is "normal" according to the dealer due to the big multi piston sport brakes. Funny that I never had the sound in any other car with big brakes (911, M5, M3, S5). I get a brake squeal when lightly braking to a stop in reverse AND when driving forward. I'll probably research new pads when the time comes for replacement.
