ya man im just a little confused about what your trying to tell me. If i have the option on with the wheel and seat moving when i get out of the car will that mean when i get back into the car and turn it on sometimes it wont match up exactly to my settings? is that why people disengage the setting? thanks

I just de-activated the feature because I didn't like all the activity, I have no problem getting in & out w/ my memory settings, but I could see it being useful if you have your settings pretty tight to the wheel or are a larger person.

The FOB is your remote to unlock the doors and such. You can match each FOB to one of the seat presets. When you unlock the doors with that FOB on you it will put the seats into your memorized position.

well i don't want the key to put my seat to the memory because when i enter the car i like how the seat and wheel slide back and move up. if i unlocked the car and the seat positioned to that setting it would be hard for me to get into the car.

How about going to the dealership and trying out the new cars on the lot to see if there's really a problem w/ your memory seats (if you can't recreate "the problem") OR if it's user error (if the new cars observe the same behavior). That would be the sure-fire way to get closure on your question. Good luck. Just curious, have you read through the entire user manual yet?

To the OP, rather than spending time w/ all these posts back & forth I think you'd be better off spending that time reading the owners' manual. Cars used to be pretty basic, but the newer luxury cars have so many features and options that you'll be missing out on everything this car has to offer if you just get behind the wheel and "wing-it". Did you know you can roll all the windows down at once (to release summer heat) by just hitting the unlock button on the fob and holding it in for a few seconds?? See, you learned something new already, and it IS in the manual
Good Luck w/ your situation, I'm fairly certain it is related to your "auto-retract" option.
