Oil change turned into 3750 mile service

Went to Frontier Infiniti, Steven creeks, San Jose today for oil change. *The advisor tricked me into doing 3750 service for $112 without letting me know. * I had to request them to make the correction. *It's still $60 for oil change ... Sorry about my rant

Dealer over here charges $200 for just an oil change (every 7500 miles) and unfortunately they are the only Infiniti dealer here within a 50 mile radius! I do my own oil changes but I just feel sorry for the people that has to go through them. Freakin thieves!

While they should be upfront and ask you first, you need to make sure when you get the paperwork that they aren't doing the Premium service which includes all the unnecessary inspections. At least they reversed it, but you should bring that up to the service manager.

Holy Moly - that would appear to fall into the category.

If you're in the South Bay and want to go to a dealer for service, you should try Beshoff Infiniti in San Jose.

go to Beshoff Infiniti in San Jose. It is the best dealership in the Bay Area hands down!! do a quick search on this forum or G35Driver and you will find tons of good reviews on them. Their customer service is second to none and have the most competitive prices. Even their car washes are good. They are also a sponsor on this website.

ANY thoughts on how often one should get an oil change in a sports car? 3500 or 7500?

If you're using conventional motor oil you should probably change your oil every 3,750 miles. For synthetic motor oil you can probably extend that out to 5,000 - 7,500 miles. Just my $0.02. I'm sure somebody else will give you a more definitive answer.

I think Beshoff started carrying AMSOIL after I brought mine in and asked them to change it while getting my rims & tires installed about half a year ago.

Combined with AMSOIL's EaO filter, you can change it every 25,000 miles for standard driving habbits. I change mine everything 12,500 miles (half). I am now around 10,000 miles since my last oil change and I just checked it the other day - the oil is still pretty darn clean I have to say =)
