Sticky clear coat feel?

I have a 09 BO and i have washed it 4 times since i bought it, when I feel the paint its always have a sticky feel. Its not smooth and slick like my previous cars. Could it be the soap im using, or do I need to claybar.(havnt claybared, polished, glaze, seal, and waxed just yet) Plus I noticed that I have small specks of dots on my hood and front window, you cant really see them unless you really get close to it, anyone else have this proble on there BO? Can I polish these out with a white pad and finishing polish?

Try a clay bar on a small spot and on the windshield. You can also use ultra fine steel wool and Windex on the windshield that always works.

If the clear is soft then you can put a finger nail mark in it with little effort. Lastly take it to a body shop to check it out and then give you a written statement if it is. Then you'd wanna take it to the dealer.

Other then that...

Its probably the soap...

It needs to be clayed. Those little small specks will come off with clay. I would start with white and finishing polish and go more aggressive only if necessary.

I had the same "issue" on my Blue Slate from when it was new. I dry the car with a microfiber towel and it would stick to the paint rather then glide over it. After waxing the car the first time, it glid over the paint when drying with the same cloth. I think it was just too clean.

Just clayed my '09 G37Xs sedan and used Blackfire polish and wax to finish. That graphite platinum paint just GLOWS! No stickiness at all, you won't find a slicker painted surface on a car.

Do you park under a tree? The tree i park under has unlimited sap and loves to mess up my paint. I get those little dots everywhere, literally 10 minutes after I wash it.

It could have something to do with the fact that your cars have Scratch Shield self-healing paint.

The clear coat is actually "mobile" and sticky I think for a reason.

You won't normally notice a stickiness with scratch shield paint unless the outside temp is extremely high. Even so, what the OP is describing sounds like paint contamination of some sort.

Is the FX the only Inifiti model to come with scratch shield paint or is it used on all models?
