is that normal? it happened to me once when i hit the gas it kept jerking
Not sure about jerking, but my rear wheels skids and slide when I make hard right or left turns in the rain... 328 hp, rear wheel drive and rain don't mix well. Lay off your gas pedal turn starting and making turns.
What you are experiencing is probably wheel hop combined with the VDC/traction control trying to slow your car's wheel spin due to loss of traction from a takeoff. This is totally normal. Leave the VDC on- it'll save your life and your G.

no **** were not talking bout traction control ..i drift turns ALL DAY IN THE SNOW BUDDY
I've experienced the same on several makes/models of 4WD cars. Don't know if
your car is 4wd, but if it is get a 4-wheel allignment and make sure your tires
are properly inflated....These will help immensely.
Well, to get all technical... the X is RWD until it detects enough slip coming from the rear wheels... then the fronts kick in accordingly.
I just think the OP experienced the VDC going off. That's exactly how it feels.
?????? It might have something to do with moisture or steam,,,,there was hella steam coming from engine bay..we need injen to figure this out
i don't have a CAI and there were major steam coming from my engine after driving in hard rain this past weekend. however, i did not experience any jerking or loss of power.
