Going on a road trip, any advice?
Ok so I'm going to take the G on a road trip on Thursday down I-5 from Portland. I'll be going to LA, I'll be in town Sat/Sun and leaving LA Monday morning. Go back up I-5 and make a stop in SF for 4 days kick it with friends/family, then finally heading back up to Portland. I'll admit I'm kind of nervous bringing her for the first time but this was one of the reasons I bought her for. To make these long trips down back to the home state/city. I've been checking up on weather forcast and they look good for the most part, last thing I want is for a snow storm to suddenly hit the mountain areas. *Knocks on wood*
My G has about 1,150 miles and I'll be getting my first oil change tommorow by my dealer with Nissan Ester oil. I'll be washing my car before the trip and applying sealent. I plan to bring some quick detailer and some microfiber rags to wipe the front down from bugs at rest stops/gas stations. Does anyone else have any other advice/tips as far as what I should do to prepare my car for the trip? Or advice/tips for the actual drive down I-5? Thanks in advance for the help its appreciated.

Check everything that you should normally check (oil level, AT fluid, brake fluid, etc.) and makes sure that all is A-OK. As a matter of personal choice, I like to put an extra 1 to 1.5 lbs of air in my tires beyond the recommended settings for extended highway driving. This is just my personal preference as it will give you slightly better highway mileage without unnecessary wear on the tires.
Drive safely and have a fun trip.
