Locked Key in Trunk?

My wife locked the key in the trunk of our '09. I thought this was impossible. Is there a setting that I've missed somewhere which activates/deactivates this?

Or is there a known issue of sensitivity between the vehicle and the key fob?

Thanks.

Are your car's doors unlocked or the windows down? If so, you are able to lock the fob in the trunk because they figured you'd just gain access to the car through the doors or windows and pop the trunk from inside.

Not good idea. Lock wife in trunk and wife will lock you out of BED.. or house.

I believe the doors were locked and windows up, at the time. Could it be a fault? Are there settings?

No settings to be set or changed.

I think the Maxima reference was because they use the same key fobs and anti lockout system.

Interesting. You can lock your keys in the truck if you have one foot in the air when you the click the lock button twice, wait ten seconds, then hit again, wait six seconds, your wife grabs the keys and hits it again. Can't help ya, that's never happened to me.

Thanks for the quick replies, guys. Would one of you kind gents mind trying to lock you fob in the trunk? Obviously, only with the spare at-hand. I'm just wondering if this exists on other cars?

I've witnessed what happens with an older keyless G when you try and lock the fob in the trunk. It beeps, and unlatches the trunk.

Exactly. Mine did that on Staurday when they where in my golf bag. That's how I knew they were in there.

So, in other words, yours worked as advertised? Did the car beep, and the trunk unlatch?

I just tried it out. Your is whack because mine emitted a very long, loud continuous beep and immediately unlocked the trunk when I closed it with the keys inside and the doors locked with windows up.

The car also would not allow me to lock the keys inside the car and shut the door. It emitted an intermittent beep and the doors unlocked.
