Window-wipers automatic?

Well.. I live in California, so it doesn't rain much, but I was just wondering if the window wipers were automatic, or if you actually had to push down on the thing(not really sure what to call it) to activate the wipers.

All other luxury cars I have been in(Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, etc) all have automatic window wipers, but does the Infiniti G?

For 2010 the G will have them otherwise to you to use the control stalk to operate them.

Thank God, I think that feature sucks.
My dad has it on his GS and my grandparents had it on their DTS and I'm sooooooo glad my G doesn't have them.

^^^ why the hate? I got it on my FX and love the feature. What about it do you not like? My only issue is after I was the car at the wand wash it turns the wipers on before i get a chance to MF it dry. but that is about it

I don't think it sucks... I mean its pretty helpful if you set it accurately, you don't really need to do anything when its raining, just let the wipers work, and if they annoy you, you can always change the settings to make them go faster or slower, or shut the option off all together I think

1. You dont get a "true" intermittent
2. when its misting out the windshield gets too wet (no matter what setting you use) before the stupid things turn on.
3. the first sign of a streaking wiper and the system doesn't work for ****.
4. if you live where you get snow/ice you HAVE to remember to turn the stupid things off before starting the car because the motor will burn out.
5. the wipers dont return to the home position when you turn the car off (I know the same is true if you just have them on BUT auto is auto and you shouldnt have to mess with them to make sure you dont burn them up) which could be a BIG problem if you have to deal with #4 above.

I'd be screwed then. My wipers have streaked since the day I got the car. New blades didn't help the matter either.

And you can't (or shouldn't) use a rain repellant product like Rain-x since it affects the sensors. I perfer the rain repellants.
