I'm in the same boat as you, I need a new front bumper too. The dealership told me it's about $300 for a new unpainted one and from what I've seen about $300-400 to paint it. I've been trying to get one off the forums, but nobody seems interested.

Just wondering where are you located in Oklahoma? I'm in Tulsa, maybe we can compare notes.

I went to a local body shop for a quote on my baby. I told them to quote me for a 09 Journey Bumper and 09 Sport Bumper. Journey first:

  • Cover, Front Bumper - 307.62
  • Flex Additive - 10.00
  • Hazard Waste Removal - 5.00
  • Paint 118.40

LABOR
  • Sheet Metal $45/hr at 2.3 Hrs - 103.50
  • Refinish $45/hr @ 3.7 Hrs - 166.50

Gross Parts - $307.62
Paint Material - $118.40
Gross Labor - $270
Misc. Towing - $15

QUOTE - $749.43

What do you guys think? The quote is from Performance Auto Repair in Bixby, OK. My deductible is $1000 so this will be out of pocket.

It's not a huge difference, and since it's out of pocket I guess it really depends on your personal preference and if you like the sport or journey bumper better. Yours is an 09 right? So its got the self healing paint. What kind of paint are they going to use to respray it?

Wow, $1000 deductible looks high. You might want to consider lowering your deductible for comprehensive. Price difference shouldn't be that much. What is your collision deductible? I have $500 collision and $200 comprehensive.
