Dealer fixed creaking noise
Hi all, I took my car to the dealer for the first oil change this week and asked them to look into a few other things:
- "check engine light" came on for the second time in a month. first time they just reset it and told me to screw the cap on more carefully and have all the electronics in the car off while i'm getting gas: radio, ipod. i did all that but the light came on again. this time they replaced the gas cap. hopefully i wont have to deal with this again
- i've been hearing a loud annoying squeaking/creaking noise coming from under the car for a couple of months now when going over uneven surfaces (driveway, etc) at low speeds. to me it sounded like it was coming from an axle or the frame. the service guy heard it and fixed it by replacing front left and right stayway bars, links and bolts and upper control arms, nuts and bolts. they had to order the parts so they had the car there for 3 days. i've driven it twice since then and she sounds great! i did not pay for any parts or labor for this, only for the oil change.
This was done at Peninsula Infiniti at Redwood city, CA. The guy i worked with was Benny Gomez and he appears to be a cool dude.

surprised no comments in here, i know many other people have the "creaking noise" problem in addition to that other popping noise from the windshield. Thanks for posting Shuric.
I have the creaking noise as well at low speeds over bumps and while backing out of my driveway. Sounds to me though that it's coming from the roof. I know someone else on here had the dealer make some change to the A-pillar?... yikes
My dealer doesn't acknowledge the noise and wouldn't sit with me when i told em i would drive to where they could hear the noise. I gave up after that and have been lazy all winter. Seems like as soon as you stop going to them for service and start doing your own maintanence they don't give a crap anymore.
*EDIT: just realized this was the sedan forum. no wonder. came across this thread in a search for something else*
