What speed does first gear get up to, when you redline it?

Spark is cut off not fuel.

Operating any engine at or near its limits is typically OK as long as the motor is well maintained including frequent oil changes with the proper lubricant, proper operating temperature (read proper anti-freeze) and approproate warm up and cool down.

 

OP, I can understand your worry, but, if taking a G to red line did any serious damage to the motor, there would be a very long line at the service center. ;-)

I am missing something when the car is in ds mode it starts in first and shifts automatically til 4th gear.yea if you touch the paddle while in ds,it will say m1.I've done it where I put in 1st and forgot.but nothing like you are mentioning

 

The rev limiter applies even with the 7 speed auto while driving in Manual Mode??

 

Tariq why you so scared to try it out? Go out there, and try every mode out. D, DS and M. It'll answer all your questions trust me

 

I'm hoping to keep my car for many many years....I do love to drive it and all, love to push it too, but not too hard, not past 7000k!

 

redline is your best friend... especially when you get an intake and an exhaust.
