3 month checkup necessary?
Well, I just got a letter in the mail from Infiniti saying that I'm due for a 3 month or 3,750mile check up. I have had the car for 3 months, but I only have around 1,200 miles on it. So, should I take it in to be on the safe side, or skip the checkup?
Oh, and not sure if it matters, but the dealership said that my appointment is any time during the week of August10... but I will be away from the 8th-18th of August... is this a problem, or can I just take it in after I come back? (again only if necessary)

I am interested in this also. I won't be taking mine back unless someone posts up a good reason to take it back. I have never owned a car that NEEDS to be taken back for a 3 month checkup. Personally I don't have time for that.

The maintenance schedule is either 3 month/3750 or 6 month/7500. There's no real reason you need to bring it in at 3 months unless you have a prepaid maintenance plan and it's covered anyway, otherwise you can wait until 6 months. It wouldn't hurt to call your service rep and ask them yourself.
The notice you received with a tentative appointment is really just a reminder and a courtesy that you have a spot reserved for that week but there's no obligation.

dont let them hustle you. there is not one single thing it needs at 1200 miles. if you do 1200 miles every 3 months, you wont need anything till 3yrs from now.

Got my G37x Sedan on May 7th 2009...so exactly today it's 3 months old and I got that letter too. I have 1500+ miles on it and I won't be taking it in until I have 3750 miles on it...IMHO, I believe scheduled maintenance by time (every 3 months or 6 months or whatever) it's just a way to relieve you of your money...

I average 3,000 miles per year on my 08 G coupe (I use it as a weekend fun car only), and also when I had my 03 G coupe. I have the oil changed once per year at the dealer when I take it in for my yearly state inspection. I had my 03 G for 5 years and the only maintenance I did was a once yearly oil change. My wife and I each have Honda CRV's as daily drivers and I also have the oil changed on them at 5,000 miles or 1 year whichever comes first.

I'm in the same situation, about 4000 miles after 7 months of ownership. Does it void the warranty if I don't fix my car during their scheduled maintenance schedule? Also, A few months back I had this warning message come up but it was under "Maintenance->Other", which gave me very little info as to what was wrong or if anything was wrong with the car. Does it just come up to remind me that 3 or 6 months has passed?

My dealer gave me a 2 week checkup and first oil change free. My 2 week checkup just involved draining the oil, transmission fluid, and coolant. They said it was to get rid of any debris left over from the manufacturing process. Seemed a bit unnecessary to me but it was free so I figured why not.
A three month check up makes sense to me. Ther service guide book has each appointment at 3 month intervals. I just take mine in every 3 months.
